The Young Adults continue studying the Ten Commandments.  Come join us at 9:30 Sunday mornings, upstairs in the Holyword Theater.

May 12th:  Lesson title:  “TAKE THAT – You must not steal “– (Exodus 20:15)  In baseball you can steal bases, an opportunity to get ahead, to further your position.  But what about actually stealing, taking a possession that doesn’t belong to you?  It’s seeing an opportunity to get something or have something you can’t quite get on your own and just grabbing it.  Interestingly, when you steal a base in baseball you get dirty, but when you steal something in life you feel dirty.   How do you steal things, other than possessions, from people?   In what areas of your life are you “stealing” and from whom are you “stealing”? What are some things that could be considered “stealing” that we don’t really think anything about?  Scriptures: Genesis 25:27-34 and Genesis 27:1-40

May 19th:  SHADES OF GREY – You must not testify falsely against your neighbor. What are ways people deceive others today? In what areas of your life do you find it easy to keep your word and in what areas are you deceitful, even in the most subtle of ways?

May 26th:  MINE! – You must not covet. What is the difference between desire and coveting? What makes people move from having a healthy desire to

coveting? Where in your life do you struggle with keeping your desires in check?

Momentum Continues

Young adults will keep the momentum going by meeting at 9:30 every Sunday in April.  Come join us in our study of the Ten Commandments.  (Michelle usually has doughnuts).

We are also planning a service project with the Community Service League in Independence.  Details to follow.

Meeting again on March 10, 2013

We will be meeting again this Sunday, March 10th at 9:30 am--- same room-- same situation with the bells-- a different commandment video to view, but....want to keep up the momentum- and try to nail down some plans. Don't forget daylight savings time-- set your clocks ahead (we are not morning people in the Miller household)! Sorry for the late post--

Young Adults Meet March 3rd

We are scheduled to meet this Sunday at 9:30 in the "Holywood" room. Some of us have bell practice at 9:30 now too because of the snow-- but I figure we might have some fellowship time between practice and the service. Farrel will be up there and he is in charge of the donuts. There has been an excellent request to discuss what mission/service/volunteer work we might do as a group sometime. If you can't make it on Sunday but have some ideas or suggestions about what we might do-- please comment. I always loved doing the United Way volunteer days at work-- one of the few things I miss!   See you there.........Michelle Miller                                              

Young Adults Meet Again - February 3rd

Same time - 9:30 a.m. -- same place - Holywood"" room. Hope to see you then-- Farrel and I will bring the Krispy Kremes! We should plan another fun activity too-- has anyone gone ice skating at the Independence Event Center? I have been wanting to try, uhhm try- being the key word here- for a while-- then wondering if I am too old and might break something-- hah! Thoughts?!
